Scholarships for New Graduate Students

We recognize that graduate school is a significant investment in your future.  

St. Catherine University is committed to helping make graduate education more affordable. In addition to offering full access to federal and state aid, military and veteran aid, and other resources, St. Kate’s offers a variety of scholarships and grants for new graduate students, including Leadership, Academic Achievement, Diversity, Alumni, and corporate and community partnerships.

Funding is limited — for best consideration, apply for admission early.

Scholarships by Program

New MBA students enrolling in Spring 2022 may be eligible for scholarship funding from these resources:

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs. 

  • Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
    Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

New Student Scholarships
New Post-Licensure students enrolling in Spring 2022 may be eligible for up to $5,000 (MAED students) or up to $2,000 (Certificate students) in scholarship funding from these resources:

  • Learning Team Scholarship
    Start at the same time as a friend or colleague and you’ll each receive a $1,000 (MAED) or $500 (Certificate) scholarship.

  • Teacher Leader Scholarship
    For emerging teacher leaders who have a vision for how they will lead and influence change as educators — or experienced teacher leaders who have served as TOSAs, mentor teachers, leadership positions, or other roles; or who have shown leadership through teaching awards, presentations, research, publications, grants, or extracurricular activities that help students succeed.

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree programs.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

New Master of Arts in Education: Initial License students may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship funding from these resources:

  • Teacher Preparation Scholarship
    For students who demonstrate the capacity to make a significant difference as K-6 educators.

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree programs.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

New Master of Arts in Education: AM2 students enrolling in Spring 2022 may be eligible for up to $2,500 in scholarship funding from these resources:

  • Montessori Recognition Scholarship
    For students who have previously completed a credential through a teacher education program accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE).

  • Montessori Leadership for Social Justice Scholarship
    For students who demonstrate a passion for, and commitment to, social justice.

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

New Master of Health Informatics students enrolling in Spring 2022 may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship funding from these resources:

  • Leadership in Health Informatics Scholarship
    For students who demonstrate the capacity to apply the tools of health informatics to improve the quality of care, achieve efficiencies across systems, and create positive change for health systems and the communities they serve.

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

New Master of Arts in Holistic Health Studies students enrolling in Spring 2022 may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship funding, and new Holistic Health Studies certificate students may be eligible for up to $2,000 in scholarship funding, from these resources:

  • Innovation in Holistic Health Scholarship
    For students who demonstrate the capacity to transform health and well being through the application of holistic health practices.

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

After enrolling, Holistic Health Studies may qualify for awards from the Jeannette Buczynski Kissinger Scholarship Fund. Information about award eligibility is provided by the department during the fall semester.

New MAISCE students may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship funding from these resources: 

  • Leadership Scholarship
    For students who will further the MAISCE program's commitment to social justice and communication equity. 

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

New students in the Master of Library and Information Science or School Library Media Licensure programs for Spring 2022 may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship funding from these resources:

  • Information Equity and Inclusion Scholarship
    For students who demonstrate a commitment to social justice and to promoting equity through the access, use, evaluation, sharing, and creation of information.

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

St. Catherine University Scholarships
New Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP): Nurse Practitioner, Post-Master's or Dual-Degree students may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship funding from these resources:

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 and above (Nurse Practitioner, Dual-Degree) or 3.8 and above (Post-Master's).

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

The Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) is available for qualifying students in St. Catherine University Doctor of Nursing Practice program.

New Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): Entry-Level students enrolling in Spring 2022 may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship funding, from these resources:

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

St. Catherine University Scholarships
New Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): Nurse Educator students enrolling in Spring 2022 may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship funding, from these resources:

    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education.

New Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD): Post-professional students enrolling in Summer 2022 may be eligible for up to $5,000 in scholarship funding, from these resources:

  • Leadership Scholarship
    For students who demonstrate the commitment to advancing health and social justice in the OT profession.
  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 
  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

New Organizational Leadership degree-seeking students enrolling in six credits for Spring 2022 will be awarded a one-time scholarship of $2,000. New students may also be eligible for scholarship funding from these resources:

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

  • Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
    Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

Each new Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student will be considered for DPT Department Scholarships.

Each new Doctor of Physical Therapy (MPAS) student will be considered for MPAS Department Scholarships.

New Entry-Level Master of Public Health (MPH) in Global Health students enrolling in Fall 2021 may be eligible for up to $10,000 in scholarship funding from these resources: 

  • MPH in Global Health Mission Scholarship
    For MPH students who will further the MPH mission to diversify the public health workforce, engage and collaborate with communities both locally and abroad, and advance health equity. 

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

GHR Foundation Support
Current MPH students may be eligible for funding from the Gerald and Henrietta Rauenhorst (GHR) Foundation to help offset travel costs related to international practicum experiences.

New Master of Social Work students enrolling in Summer/Fall 2022 may be eligible for scholarship funding from these resources:

  • Social Justice Mission Scholarship
    For students who demonstrate a passion for, and commitment to, social justice.

          Award amount: $3,000 (Advanced Standing), $4,500 (Regular Standing)

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

         Award amount: $3,000 (Advanced Standing), $4,500 (Regular Standing)

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minority populations traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

          Award amount: $3,000 (Advanced Standing), $4,500 (Regular Standing)

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of a St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree program. 

          Award amount: $2,000

Applicants who have completed a bachelor's degree from one of the following MN/WI institutions are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship: College of St. Benedict/St. John's University, College of St. Scholastica, Metropolitan State University, St. Olaf College, University of St. Thomas, University of Wisconsin-River Falls, Winona State University.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
Students employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.

Ministry Tuition Remission: Spiritual Direction
The Ministry Tuition Remission program offers a tuition discount of 50% for qualified Spiritual Direction Certificate (SDC) students who are ordained or lay ministers from the ecumenical Christian Church.

Lilly Grant Funding: Pastoral Ministry
Pastoral Ministry Certificate (PMC) students who are sponsored by a local congregation that receives Lilly Grant funding may be eligible for a University scholarship of $3,000.

New Student Scholarships
New PMC students who are not eligible for Lilly Grant support, or new SDC students who are not eligible for Ministry Tuition Remission, may be eligible for up to $3,000 (PMC) or up to $5,000 (SDC) in scholarship funding from these resources: 

  • Theology Service and Leadership Scholarship
    For students who have provided service or leadership to support varieties of people in their quest for spiritual meaning and/or justice.

  • Academic Achievement
    For students with cumulative college and university grade point averages (GPAs) of 3.5 or above.

  • Diversity Scholarship
    For individuals from racial and ethnic minorities traditionally underrepresented in higher education. 

  • Alumni Scholarship
    For graduates of St. Catherine University associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs.

Corporate and Community Partner Scholarship
New PMC students who are not eligible for Lilly Grant support, or new SDC students who are not eligible for Ministry Tuition Remission, who are employed at one of St. Catherine University’s corporate or community partners, may receive a scholarship that reduces tuition costs by 10%.
