Get Real Accounting Experience as an Undergrad

St. Catherine University credentials carry weight in the working world. Employers hire Katies because we’re well-rounded with deep entrepreneurial spirit.

Our accounting program classes involve discussion, case studies, teamwork, and ethics — a curricular commitment that has made us a model for other universities. You’ll apply classroom knowledge at a real business in our supervised internship course, Accounting Practicum. The accounting major offers hands-on experience and small classes of 14–20 students.

College for Adults students have a wealth of experience, including work, community and volunteer activities. We value the learning you've acquired outside of the classroom, and offer ways to turn those experiences into credit you can use toward your bachelor’s degree, saving you time and money. Do you have previous experience related to the field of accounting? Eligible students will work with faculty advisors to assemble a portfolio, documenting course learning outcomes that were met on the job or through other experiences. If approved, up to 12 credits may be applied toward the bachelor’s degree, with a $50 assessment fee per credit.

While pursuing your bachelor's degree in accounting, you may be eligible to take up to two courses from St. Kate's MBA or Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. Courses will count toward both your bachelor's and master's.

If you've already earned your bachelor's degree, enroll in our Accounting post-bachelor's certificate.  This option is available for students who've earned a bachelor's degree with any non-Accounting major.
