“Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force.”– Brenda Ueland
We live in difficult, divided times in our culture. We invite you to participate in a post-election listening circle with other students, faculty, and staff at St. Kate’s and our wider community. This event will ask us to actively listen to one another and explore how we’re doing, what are our sources of hope and strength, and how we can support each other.
St. Kate’s partners with 25+ multi-cultural church congregations around the Twin Cities. Their members are also invited to this listening circle. People of all faiths or no religion are very welcome to attend.
Facilitated by Dr. Mary Hess
Dr. Mary Hess is a senior faculty member at Luther Seminary, specializing in the intersection of religious education, media culture, and digital technology since joining the institution in 2000. Holding degrees from Yale, Harvard, and Boston College, her research explores how emerging communication technologies reshape pedagogical practices, religious formation, and community identity.
