Advocacy and Public Engagement: Strategies for Integration with Your Career

The goal of this workshop series is to help you develop tools so that you can become an advocate and effectively engage with the public. Specific guidance will be given on how to 1) get started and build advocacy and public engagement into your teaching, scholarship, and/or outreach, 2) simplify complex topics, communicate to the lay audience, and disseminate information through a range of public forums, and 3) engage with elected and appointed officials at local, state, and national levels. Students, staff, and faculty can participate in a single workshop or complete the entire workshop series. Join us this semester to develop your advocacy and public engagement “toolkit” for success!
