One-Time Volunteer Opportunities
Assist with day-of event help for alumni engagement programming, e.g. Adulting 101, TRW Interviews, Dew Drop Bop, etc. Welcome guests, serve as a point person for attendee questions, and help with registration, directing traffic, and other day-of activities.
Time commitment: 2–5 hours per event
Focus Group Volunteer
Help St. Kate’s think through challenges and opportunities around alumni engagement. Attend and actively participate in a meeting around a designated topic using a brainstorming approach and serve as a strategic thought partner to the University on key programs or challenges.
Time commitment: 1–2 hours
Gratitude Week Volunteer
Celebrate the generous spirit of the Katie community during Gratitude Week. Alumni volunteers participate in a note writing campaign to encourage alums and friends who gave to St. Kate's last year, but have not yet made a Katie Fund gift this year. Sample wording, notecards, alumni lists, pens, and stamps are provided. We provide a lovely buffet lunch and a chance to visit with other alumni, current students, and faculty/staff members!
Time commitment: One day in April, mid-afternoon
Movers and Shakers
Show the newest Katies what it means to be part of the St. Kate’s family! Movers and Shakers is a day in early September when first-year students move into the residence halls. Alumni lend a hand and welcome new first-year students and their families to campus. Volunteer as a Mover (moving) or a Shaker (hospitality).
Time commitment: 3–4 hours, morning
Enjoy a meal with a current first-year student, who will interview you about your life as part of a core course, The Reflective Woman. Answer questions about your St. Kate’s experience and journey after graduation.
Time commitment: 2 hours
Help students find and pursue their professional paths or personal passions. Share your professional insights and experiences with a class, club, or residence hall floor.
Time commitment: 2–3 hours, includes personal prep time
