Orientation Details
We’re excited to welcome you at orientation as you begin your time at St. Kate’s! Over these two days, you will have the opportunity to connect with your classmates and orientation leaders, learn about important University policies and procedures, become familiar with campus resources, and adjust to life as a Katie.
This program will take place in person on our beautiful St. Paul campus, and students should plan to be present on campus for all two days of orientation.
If you are registered to live on campus, please see the Residence Life website for information about moving onto campus. Move in will happen on Thursday, August 27, so that you are all settled in prior to orientation activities starting on Friday.
If you have questions about attending orientation, please email orientation@stkate.edu.
Orientation Check-In
Check-in will take place on Friday, August 28 from 9-10am. Head to the Ballroom on the 3rd floor of the Coeur de Catherine during this time to pick up your orientation materials!
Orientation Schedule
Plan to be on campus from 9am-8pm on Friday and 10am-8pm on Saturday.
Ready, Set, St. Kate's!
Friday will focus on an academic introduction to St. Kate’s. Your orientation group is your classmates from CORE1000: The Reflective Woman (TRW), so you will have a chance to make friends and start to form a community of learners. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about majors you are interested in and meet the faculty, connect with opportunities for study abroad and research, find academic supports available on campus, participate in a simulation activity, and find your classes. The day will end with a special ceremony to welcome you to campus.
Welcome to the Neighborhood
Saturday will focus on getting to know the community at St. Kate’s and the neighborhood where we live. In the morning, we will think holistically about what it means to be well as we live in community. The afternoon will be spent learning how to use the Butler Center (come ready to play!) and exploring our local neighborhood, Highland Park, through its food. We will conclude the night back on campus for a movie and snacks on the quad.
Benefits of Participating
Orientation is the best way to learn about the resources available to you as a St. Kate’s student and prepare to start your program. New students appreciate the opportunity to connect with University staff and faculty — it makes it easier to reach out when you need them.
Come prepared with your questions, as this is your chance to make sure you have all of the answers you need to start the semester off right.
