Morgan Johanson is an Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Department at St. Catherine University. Her research focuses on PT interventions for atrial fibrillation and updating the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the physical therapy management of heart failure. She was the lead investigator for the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Entry-Level Physical Therapist Competencies: Update by the Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy and is a contributing author to the Essentials of Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy 4th and 5th Editions. In 2022, she won the Merit Award from the Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy, and in 2003, she won the Service Star from the California Pacific Medical Center for excellence in patient care. Morgan Johanson earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara; her master’s degree at the University of California, San Francisco; and her Doctoral degree at Nova Southeastern University. She taught as a part-time faculty member at the University of Toledo for 7 years, until coming to St. Catherine University in 2024. Her clinical experience includes working as a Level 3 Physical Therapist at the California Pacific Medical Center, coordinating the inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy programs at the Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System, and working per diem in several skilled nursing facilities.
