Department of Public Health

Please join us in congratulating Angela Ekwonye, PhD, and Elizabeth Allen, PhD, who were recently tenured and promoted to Associate Professor!

Ekwonye's research interest lies heavily in the area of mental health promotion and prevention, with a specific focus on the mechanisms and factors of resiliency underlying the health of vulnerable and diverse populations in the face of social and economic adversity.

Allen's work focuses on the impact of the environment on social, emotional, physical health and she collaborates with students, international non-governmental organizations, and a global network of scholars in her research.

Both Ekwonye and Allen work to collaborate and include both undergraduate and graduate students into their research projects, creating meaningful and challenging learning experiences. Tenure and promotion are major milestones in a faculty career and we celebrate these well-deserved achievements!
