St. Kate's at the 2016 Minnesota Campus Compact
A St. Kate’s student, professor and community partner were chosen to receive Presidents’ Civic Engagement awards from the 2016 Minnesota Campus Compact. Each year Minnesota Campus Compact invites member presidents and chancellors to give statewide recognition to civic engagement leaders in three categories: Presidents’ Student Leadership Award, Presidents' Civic Engagement Steward Award, and Presidents' Community Partner Award.

Marlee Mfalingundi '16
As an undergraduate Mfalingundi served as an America Reads Tutor, America Reads Student Coordinator, and Career Ready Intern, and engaged in service-learning. She works with Breakthrough Twin Cities each summer, and is dedicated to improving the lives of youth through community involvement and her future career as a teacher.
Lisa Marien, assistant professor, RN-BS
As RN-BS Completion Program Director, Marien integrates community experiences into the program to deepen student learning and impact. She works tirelessly to support faculty who teach hybrid and fully online, and because of her leadership, RN-BS students have made great impact in the community.
Keystone Community Services–St. Catherine University
St. Kate's and Keystone have collaborated for many years in various capacities, including Keystone's consistent involvement in the annual Citizen Katie event involving alumnae, staff and current students. Through service-learning student engagement, the organizations support each other's efforts, and this spring Keystone is hosting a St. Kate’s Career Ready intern.
Minnesota Campus Compact is a coalition of diverse colleges and universities that “supports civic engagement and democratic renewal” by presenting annual awards, hosting professional development and networking events, capacity building through training and consultation, and maintaining special programs and initiatives that leverage funding for high-priority issues.
