Donahue brings years of experience in higher education finance leadership.
Maura Donahue, PhD, has been named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for St. Catherine University, bringing to the leadership team years of private university experience, financial leadership, and stewardship. She begins on October 5 and will report to President Marcheta P. Evans, PhD.
Donahue’s work will advance and support the University’s mission to educate women to lead and influence by guiding its financial strategy.
“Maura brings not only financial acumen, but also values-based decision-making with an eye toward building a collaborative culture grounded in respect, accountability, and inclusion,” said President Evans. “Her extensive experience guiding the financial health and stability of higher education institutions makes her an excellent addition to St. Catherine University’s leadership.”
Donahue is returning to higher education leadership with this role after spending just over two years providing financial and operational consulting and leadership coaching to higher education institutions and nonprofits. Prior to her consultancy, she held finance leadership roles at Ohio Wesleyan University and the University of Dayton, College of Arts and Sciences.
“I look forward to joining St. Kate’s as a steward of the University’s physical, financial, and human resources so it can deliver on its mission,” Donahue said. “Above all, I lead with a commitment to the common good, with a deep belief that education is a necessary component for human flourishing.”
Donahue brings to St. Kate’s not only extensive financial expertise, but also faculty experience from teaching ethical considerations of business, corporate finance, international finance, mergers and acquisitions, and entrepreneurial finance at the University of Dayton. She holds a PhD in finance from the University of Cincinnati, and a master’s degree in theological studies from the University of Dayton.
