Governor Dayton declares October 11, "St. Catherine University Day," to honor Becky Roloff's inauguration

Governor Mark Dayton has proclaimed Tuesday, October 11 as “St. Catherine University Day” to acknowledge the inauguration of ReBecca Koenig Roloff. Lt. Governor Tina Smith will present the proclamation during the event on University’s O’Shaughnessy stage.

Roloff will be installed as St. Catherine University’s 11th president Tuesday, Oct. 11 in an inaugural ceremony dedicated to the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet “to do all which woman is capable and which will most benefit the dear neighbor."

A 1976 graduate of St. Catherine, Roloff earned an MBA with Distinction from Harvard University. Her career includes nearly 30 years as a corporate leader at American Express Financial Advisors, Pillsbury and Cargill.

She joins St. Kate’s from the YWCA of Minneapolis where she served as President and CEO for 11 years. Throughout her career, she has been renowned as a caring and results-oriented leader who works with people, not over them, to achieve success for the organization she is leading.

In addition, Roloff has served in the community as chair of the boards of St. Catherine University, The Blake School and The Children’s Theatre Company, as well as a board director for C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc., the Minneapolis Downtown Council Executive Committee, the YWCA of Minneapolis, and Allina Health. She is the recent past president of the International Women’s Forum of Minnesota and the Minnesota Women’s Economic Roundtable, a member of Women Corporate Directors, and a trustee for the Charles and Ellora Ellis Educational Foundation.

Inauguration schedule Tuesday, October 11

10:30 a.m. – Inaugural Liturgy, Our Lady of Victory Chapel with the Most Reverend Bernard Hebda, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, presider.

Noon – Inaugural Luncheon, Rauenhorst Hall, Coeur de Catherine (student center)

2 p.m. – Academic Procession, Members of the University community and guests will process from Coeur de Catherine (and other locations) to The O'Shaughnessy.

2:30 p.m. – Inaugural Ceremony, The O'Shaughnessy (livestream link available day of event)

4 p.m. – Reception and celebration, O'Shaughnessy front patio and quad

Inaugural events throughout October

Throughout the month of October, St. Catherine University celebrates the inauguration of Roloff with a variety of community events, including singer songwriter Caroline Smith (Oct. 7), the St. Catherine day of service Citizen Katie (Oct. 15) and the Fall Soul Conference in collaboration with Wisdom Ways Center for Spirituality (Oct. 28).
