To every member of our beloved St. Catherine University community who contributed on Give to St. Kate’s Day: THANK YOU!

Last week, more than 800 donors gave $532,088 in support of the Katie Fund, soaring above the $500,000 goal. Every dollar donated goes to work immediately as student scholarships, emergency assistance, athletic and cocurricular funding, and more.

“We are so proud of our community’s generosity, especially on days like this one,” said Beth Riedel Carney ’82, vice president of development and alumni relations. “Each year, St. Catherine University alumni, faculty, staff, and friends step up to live out their commitment to helping students succeed at St. Kate’s with essential financial aid. We are so grateful for your investment in Katie futures — you made this year’s Give to St. Kate’s Day a resounding success!”

This year marks the 13th anniversary of Give to St. Kate’s Day, and we are ecstatic to announce that, thanks to your generosity, our remarkable donors unlocked all challenge funds by completing the new donor, early bird, pop-up, and night owl challenges. Donors gave from 49 out of 50 states, turning the U.S. map purple in support of our students. In the face of nationwide enrollment dips and historic inflation, we raised over $50,000 more for students on this year’s Give to St. Kate’s Day than in 2021.

To all our donors: you showed up for Katies on November 16, demonstrating the strength of Katie pride across the country and the bright future of our University.

No one describes the intention and impact of Give to St. Kate’s Day better than communication studies major Athena Garcia ’20, the winner of this year’s recent graduate Post challenge. On November 16, she shared the following on social media: “I give back to the Katie Fund because it has provided me with so much — but most importantly, the opportunity to reach my goals and be the first generation of my family to graduate from a four-year institution.”

To us, nothing says success quite like a student reporting that they achieved their dreams at St. Kate’s. Thank you for making a difference to Katies like Garcia on Give to St. Kate’s Day.

All Give to St. Kate’s Day gifts also counted toward LEAD & INFLUENCE: The Campaign for the Next Level of Excellence.
