In April, the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) recognized 168 students across the country for their contributions to creating a more civically engaged culture within their campus communities. From civic learning to voter participation, these students lead by example and empower their peers to become lifelong participants in democracy. ALL IN honored Eleanor Anderson ’26 for her outstanding work this year to support St. Catherine University’s values of civic engagement, student leadership, and collaboration in her role as student civic engagement coordinator with St. Kate’s Center for Community Work and Learning (CWL).

“Coordinating civic engagement efforts this year has been one of the most fulfilling ways to see social justice and leadership in action,” said Anderson. “None of our civic engagement initiatives would be possible without community support and the many staff members that make things happen, but it has been an honor to contribute to such important work on and around campus.”

CWL staff highlighted a number of accomplishments in nominating Anderson, mentioning that her deep passion, incredible to-do list skills, and clever check-in questions kept students connected to Civic Engagement through staff transitions. As student civic engagement coordinator, she facilitated Student Civic Engagement Fellow meetings with attention to student concerns and interests.

Last fall, Anderson reconfigured the annual Civic Action Plan to make it more accessible to the campus community and made sure the voter van was available to help get students to the polls. She also organized two events to highlight the role of government branches, including guest speakers and alumni, and wrote and received a grant to support “difficult dialogue” events on campus in spring 2026.

“From her first day on the job, Eleanor approached her work as student civic engagement coordinator with determination, realism, and a strong sense of purpose,” said Sophie Hunt, PhD, CWL director. “She cares deeply about our democracy and has worked hard to promote voting access and education at St. Kate’s.”

St. Kate’s is one of more than 1,000 campuses across the nation supported by ALL IN’s efforts to make nonpartisan civic engagement an ongoing part of campus life. Members of the 2026 Student Voting Honor Roll were nominated by campus leaders for their dedication and excellence in voter education, registration and turnout in 2025. The full list of 2026 Student Voting Honor Roll award winners can be viewed on the ALL IN website.

From hosting registration drives to initiating conversations with classmates in the hallway, our 2026 Student Voting Honor Roll is filled with students who exemplify what it means to be a leader in civic engagement,” said Jen Domagal-Goldman, executive director of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. “As college students face increasing barriers to voting while on campus, these students are making nonpartisan voter participation a lifelong habit for themselves, their peers and their campuses. We are thrilled to celebrate their accomplishments and excited to see their continued impact as we approach this year’s midterm elections.”

St. Kate’s was named an ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting in 2024 and 2022.
