On November 18, in a year when charitable giving is more important than ever before, Katies came together to surpass both dollar and donor goals on Give to St. Kate's Day!
For the past 11 years, on this special day, the St. Kate’s community has come together to support the next generation of Katie leaders and influencers. This year’s gifts not only provide essential scholarships and emergency financial relief to Katies as they continue their education during this pandemic, but additional challenge funds helped donations to go further, also counting for LEAD & INFLUENCE: The Campaign for the Next Level of Excellence.
Donors from 50 States Represented
Times may be tough, but even during this unprecedented year, the Katie community showed up. Katies from all 50 states paid it forward and shared their pride using the hashtag #GoKatieGive. This year’s donor count was nearly 100 more than last year, with at least 40 first-time donors moved to give.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of challenge fund donors, gifts were matched all day long, dollar for dollar. Donors were also motivated to hit donation goals to release additional funds throughout the day.
“We are so inspired and grateful for the support of our alums and friends — this means we can continue to provide critical financial aid and scholarship funds to today's Katies who continue to be affected by the ongoing pandemic. The Katie Fund supports emergency coverage for student financial assistance, as well as the additional costs to pivot to technology for virtual learning and other support services for our students to be successful,” said Mary Beth Iverson ’85, director of annual giving. “Our team is bursting with gratitude, and so proud to be part of such a community!”
Generosity means so much more in 2020. Every dollar is a vote for values. This year’s donors have spoken by investing in the exceptional education they know from experience, and they should feel proud of the critical impact they’ve made on University programs and services.
Thank you, St. Kate’s community, for uniting on this special day of giving.
