COVID Community Update — August 9, 2022

Dear St. Catherine Community,

August has arrived and while summer isn’t over just yet, we know that many of you are gearing up for fall semester. Please see below for updates on fall COVID policies and procedures, information on the current variants, and details on testing availability.

Campus COVID Policies and Procedures for Fall

At this time, current COVID policies and procedures will continue for fall semester.

  • Masks will be optional for all fully vaccinated and boosted individuals in most areas of campus (including classrooms, with the exception of lab and simulation settings).

    • Should the community level in Ramsey County change to high, in accordance with guidance from MDH, masks may again be required in all shared, indoor spaces on campus; additional details will be provided to the community if this scenario occurs.

  • Completion of the Daily Symptom Screening form is no longer required, however anyone who is not feeling well, regardless of how mild or severe the symptoms, should not come to campus or attend in-person classes or activities.

    • Get tested if you have symptoms, regardless of your vaccination status.

  • If you test positive for COVID-19, complete the Diagnosis Notification Form.

  • Continue to regularly wash and/or sanitize your hands, cover your cough, and avoid touching your face to help prevent the spread of germs.

Current Variants

While the emergence of new variants are expected, we recognize that they bring new unknowns to navigate, which can be stressful. We remain committed to the health and safety of our campus community and continue to monitor the latest public health guidance, data, and information to determine if and/or when changes to our campus policies and procedures may be necessary. We will continue to follow guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
