St. Kate’s executive vice president and alumna named CFO of the Year

Angela Riley, executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) at St. Catherine University, is one of 22 financial executives recognized by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal as a top 2017 Chief Financial Officer. Not only is she part of St. Kate’s senior leadership team, she is a 1984 alumna with an undergraduate degree from the University.

“CFOs are a crucial part of a company’s leadership team, but they often labor in relative obscurity outside their offices,” stated the journal in its recent announcement of the winners. “Nominees were evaluated by a panel consisting of other financial executives, who scored them on their contributions to the company and the community.”

Riley was one of three recipients in the “Civic/Cultural/Educational Nonprofits” category.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal’s 11th annual CFO of the Year Awards will celebrate the winners on Thursday, November 9, 11:30 a.m. at the JW Marriott in the Mall of America.

She also spent time in Australia, where she co-owned/managed a 5000+ acre family farm and oversaw of a portfolio of commercial and not-for-profit organizations. Early in her career, she worked for Dain Rauscher, Honeywell and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
