June 9 and 10 brought alumnae from around the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and the nation to celebrations at their alma mater. Classes of 1967 and 1992 celebrated their 50-year and 25-year reunions, respectively.
Reunion kicked off with a play celebrating the wise and witty Mother Antonia McHugh, first dean and president of St. Kate's. A full of house of alumnae listened to familiar stories of the early days of St. Kate's and commemorated the heritage of tenacity and dedication they inherited from Mother Antonia. (To say Mother Antonia never gave up, any Katie will tell you, is an understatement.)
Alumnae participated in a vast array of activities and events, including presentations by other alumnae such as Margery Smith, CSJ, '49, faculty emerita, who displayed her collection of priceless books. Maria Nhambu '67, formerly Mary Rose Ryan, shared stories reaching all the way back to her childhood in Tanzania, about which she has written in her autobiographical Dancing Soul Trilogy.
Festivities concluded with a Reunion Mass and Liturgy officiated by Father Michael Joncas. President Becky Roloff and Alumnae Liaison Ruth Brombach '60 conferred 50-year pins on the Class of 1967.
