Sim-IPE Recognize, Respond, Refer: Anxiety & De-Escalation

Participants will engage in an asynchronous learning module on the topics of anxiety and de-escalation. The online synchronous session will include mini-simulations in small groups to practice skills in recognizing and responding to signs of anxiety. The simulation will be followed by small group and large group debriefing and a discussion of resources available to the St. Catherine University community.
This is a team experience learning activity with the following learning outcomes:
- Learn key signs and symptoms to assist in the recognition of an individual experiencing an anxiety-related mental health crisis.
- Discuss situational and environmental awareness to promote safety across various environments.
- Discuss and practice effective strategies to respond to an individual experiencing an anxiety-related mental health crisis with an interprofessional lens.
- Recognize types of available resources to effectively refer based on professional discipline including campus procedures.
