Please join recent St. Kate’s Occupational Therapy doctoral graduate Lexi Leverty on Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 12:00-1:00pm in President’s Dining Room or via Zoom for a presentation on actionable strategies for becoming a more neurodiversity-affirming faculty and/or staff member for neurodivergent students (Autism and ADHD). Using an occupational therapy lens, Leverty explores the student, their environment, and the occupations in which they need and want to engage, including education, self-care, and social participation. This presentation will explore how to recognize and challenge assumptions, provide individual support, and create a more affirming and accessible learning environment for neurodivergent students.
