*The OTA Program admits students three times a year (fall, winter, summer). The Academic Year represents the student's anticipated graduation year.

**In accordance with 2023 ACOTE Standard A.6.5 Graduation Rate is defined by the number of students who graduate on time (g1) divided by the number of students admitted in the original cohort (g2) minus the number of students who withdrew due to military, health, family issues, death and other reasons not related to academic and clinical performance (g3 .calculation per calendar year is = (g1/(g2-g3).

Results of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Examination Certification Pass Rates are available via the NBCOT School Performance Link.

 

Graduates of the program receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree and are eligible to sit for the national certification exam administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, they receive the title of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

Licensure Information

Many states have some form of regulation in order to practice. In Minnesota, occupational therapy personnel must be licensed with the Minnesota Department of Health.

A felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
