Rebecca Kuske PhD

Rebecca Kuske (she/her) is an archivist, educator, and instructional designer who teaches in the Archives Track of the MLIS program at St. Catherine University. Her instructional focus at St. Kate's includes archival description, digital archives, records management, and the organization of information. Her professional experience includes digital preservation, records management, metadata, oral history, community archives, and archival instruction. Rebecca's research interests span archival education, digital archives, and the preparation of future information professionals. Her current doctoral research examines how engagement can be intentionally designed into instruction to support learning outcomes and prepare students for the ambiguity, ethical complexity, and practical challenges of professional work. Drawing on archives, Career and Technical Education, Universal Design for Learning, and gamification, her work explores how engagement-centered learning experiences help support the development of resilient and adaptable archivists. She has presented and published on archival theory, instructional practice, artificial intelligence in instruction, information literacy, and emerging technologies in higher education. Rebecca is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Practice and Innovation at the University of South Carolina and holds an M.A. in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
