Purnananda Kar is an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy (MAOT) Bridge Program at St. Kate’s, where he serves as a lab instructor at the program’s Dallas location. He brings over 31 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy and rehabilitation management across diverse settings to his role as adjunct professor. For more than three decades, he has served as a clinician, trainer, mentor, and fieldwork educator, reflecting a sustained commitment to both patient care and professional education.
A dedicated lifelong learner, Purnananda continually expands his clinical and academic knowledge to keep his teaching aligned with current best practices. He champions hands-on, practice-based learning, emphasizing the vital link between classroom theory and real-world clinical application.
Outside of work, Purnananda lives in Texas with his wife and two children. He enjoys gardening, reading, and family time — activities he considers essential to balance and well-being. His personal mantra: “don’t stay busy for the sake of being busy.”
