Dr. Kristen Maisano, OTD, MAEd, OTR/L, has been practicing occupational therapy since 2005. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Master of Science in occupational therapy in 2005 from Misericordia University, Dallas, Pennsylvania. Kristen earned her post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts, in May 2010. In 2011, Kristen joined the Department of Defense as an occupational therapist working with service members diagnosed with mild traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder. Kristen transitioned into academia in 2014 and joined the OTA faculty of St. Catherine University as an Assistant Professor in August 2016. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020. In May 2022, she earned a Master of Arts in Education (MAED) with a focus on curriculum and instruction from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. In May 2026, she earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Kristen’s scholarship efforts focus on the emotional well-being of college students.
