Emily W. Nowak, PhD, RN, MBA, is the Director of Innovation and Accreditation and tenured Professor at St. Catherine University School of Nursing. Dr. Nowak also serves as Director of the ANCC Accredited Provider Program. She holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, an MBA in Healthcare and Strategic Management, and a BAN from St. Catherine University (previously College of St. Catherine). Dr. Nowak brings extensive clinical experience in neonatal and obstetric nursing, having practiced in Level 2 NICU and postpartum settings at M Health Fairview, Children's Hospitals and Clinics - Minnesota, and Bellin Health. Her scholarly work focuses on nursing education, quality improvement, and maternal-child health, with publications in the Journal of Professional Nursing, Holistic Nursing Practice, and Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing. She is co-author of Brown's Evidence-Based Nursing: The Research Practice Connection (5th edition). Previously serving as Assistant Dean for Online Nursing Programs and Program Director for the MSN Nurse Educator option, Dr. Nowak has secured over $1.5 million in federal funding through HRSA Nurse Faculty Loan Program grants and led the development of St. Catherine's unifying curricular framework for nursing education. She is an active member of the American Nurses Association and the Association for Nursing Professional Development, and serves on multiple institutional governance committees.
