Emily James DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Dr. Emily James, APRN, DNP, PMHNP-BC has been teaching in the Bachelor Degree Program in the College for Women since December 2025. Emily originally pursued nursing as a career change and graduated from the University of Minnesota's MN program in 2017. She began her nursing career on a medical-surgical unit before moving into an eating disorder intensive treatment setting. This experience deepened her interest in mental health care and led her to pursue a Doctor of Nursing Practice, which she completed at the University of Minnesota in 2023. Today, Emily practices as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), specializing in the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with various mental health conditions.
