Residence Life Catholic Social Teaching Principles and Outcomes

In the spirit of Catholic Social Teaching principles, students living on campus will:

    • Form relationships between community members, with intentional consideration for “who is missing?”
    • Educate and equip members in taking responsibility for the quality of their living and learning environment.
    • Exercise our rights in a way that justly promotes the rights of others.
    • Encourage community members to value everyone’s belongings and the shared community spaces.
    • Adapt to technological advances, building preservation, and reducing our collective carbon footprint.
    • Recognize and support our vulnerable student populations.
    • Collaborate with students and staff to make sound decisions.
    • Develop communities capable of disagreeing without being disagreeable.
    • Empower community members to proactively contribute to the places in which they reside, always keeping the other in mind.
    • Inspire residents to embody their hopeful spirit and respect the spirit of others.
