With more than 20 years in leadership at the World Health Organization, Dr. Teguest Guerma played a key role in the WHO’s 3 by 5 Initiative, which provided antiretroviral treatment to patients with HIV/AIDS in low- and middle-income countries. As director general of the African Medical and Research Foundation, she directed 2,000 staff members’ work toward strategic goals in Africa, Europe, the United States and Canada. Her visit coincides with International Women’s Day.
