In the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health (HSSH) simulation program, we create replicable real-life patient and client situations using high-quality simulation practices. Our program utilizes simulated patients, high-fidelity mannequins, trainers, and virtual tools to simulate experiences ranging from how to introduce yourself to a patient, creating a positive patient experience, and managing complex medical situations.
Value of HSSH Healthcare Simulation
Our simulation program gives students the opportunity to practice in a safe learning environment prior to their clinical experiences. These experiences occur within their healthcare profession and interprofessionally to learn with, from, and about each other's role and impact on patient/client management of care.
Our simulation program is unique with it's wide variety of healthcare professional programs that collaborate to create highly realistic simulations for their individual programs and interprofessionally. St. Kate's integrates high quality simulation throughout their programs and involves more than one program to enhance the value of team-based patient care to enhance the quality and experience of patients. In addition, each individual program has the equipment to support the student learning for the specific skills for each program's specialty.
