St. Catherine University's Mission Chairs have organized three events in honor of International Women's Day and National Catholic Sisters Week.

This afternoon, St. Catherine University will recognize International Women’s Day with the program, "Nevertheless, She Persisted," 4:30-6 p.m. in Jeanne d’Arc Auditorium inside Whitby Hall on the University's St. Paul campus.

Sponsored by St. Kate’s Endowed Chair in Women’s Education, the program features visual storyteller, National Geographic photographer, author, speaker and humanitarian Annie Griffiths, who will illustrate how women and girls are the best investment we can make in our shared future. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served 4:30-5 p.m., with the presentation and Q & A from 5-6 p.m.

On Saturday, March 11, the St. Catherine University's Abigail Quigley McCarthy Center for Women, Office of Multicultural & International Programs & Services and International Student Organization (SCISO) are collaborating with the Justice Commission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and Consociates to host the "11th Day Prayer for Peace," 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Our Lady of the Presentation Chapel on the Sisters' property east of St. Kate's on Randolph Avenue. All are invited to this year's reflection on the United Nations International Women's Day 2017 campaign theme: #BeBoldForChange.

Monday, March 13, the National Catholic Sisters Week hosts "Sisters, Students, and Sustainability," 6:30-8 p.m. in the Rauenhorst Ballroom of Coeur de Catherine on the University's St. Paul campus. Sisters of St. Joseph will discuss how they think about and live out sustainability in their work and lives. Members of the St. Catherine community will have the opportunity to further campus sustainability work with a small grant competition. Applicants must be present to apply. Refreshments will be provided.
