Wearable Garment Technology, 3D Printing, and Sustainability, a lecture with designer Sylvia Heisel

The St. Kate's Department of Apparel, Merchandising and Design is pleased to present a public lecture with designer Sylvia Heisel on wearable garment technology, 3D printing, and sustainability. Heisel is a fashion designer and creative director working with new materials, manufacturing and physical computing for fashion and wearables. Based in New York, Heisel is an expert on 3D printing, functional fashion, design for smart wearables, and new materials manufacturing applications for fashion. She is currently developing a workflow and manufacturing system for 3D printed apparel and she was named one of the "12 Amazing People You Need To Know in New York Fashion Tech" and one of “25 Forward Thinkers Defining the Future of Fashion.”

The lecture will take place at 4 p.m. in the Recital Hall on St. Kate’s St. Paul campus. Heisel will speak from 4-5 p.m., then take audience questions from 5-5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
