St. Kate's Philosophy presents St. Kate's Philosophy alumna and U of M grad student Nicole Hamilton and her talk, "Committing Epistemic Injustice by Silencing the Voices of Patients with Eating Disorders."

Hamilton will discuss the relationship between eating disorders, medical and mental professionals, and knowledge/epistemology. "I argue that by deeming patients with eating disorders as incapable of being knowers, medical and mental health professionals ultimately undermine patients' concepts of self and agency, and they commit a grave injustice," she writes in her abstract.
