The O'Shaughnessy presents Katha Dance Theatre.

Katha Dance Theatre presents two works in the tradition of Kathak Indian dance. The form originated in Hindu temples as a means of portraying epic tales--poetry combined with rhythmic movement.

Ritusamhara -- The Seasons written by the great poet Kalidasa 17 centuries ago. Original music composed by Sharat Chandra Srivastava, New Delhi, India, with choreography by Rita Mustaphi.

Baromase Tero Parbon celebrates 13 festivals in 12 months. Performed by hidden talents from the Minnesota Bengali community depicting seasons through its festivals.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund; by the St. Paul Cultural STAR Fund; by the McKnight Foundation; by Target; and by the generosity of Katha Dance Theatre’s private donors.
