St. Kate's Celebrates the Feast of Saint Joseph

Join the St. Kate's community on March 20 as we celebrate the Feast of Saint Joseph—and our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. The day of events includes a prayer service, nonprofit service projects, and a soup supper.

All are welcome. There is no cost to attend, but an RSVP is requested.

9 a.m. Prayer Service, Our Lady of Victory Chapel

10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Service Projects, Coeur de Catherine, Rauenhorst Ballroom (full list below)

5 p.m. Procession, Table Prayer, and Soup Supper, Coeur de Catherine, Rauenhorst Ballroom

ASL interpreting will be provided at the prayer service and table prayer.


Service Projects

Serve community nonprofits through projects on campus. Stop by when your schedule allows, stay as long as you’d like.


Make blankets at
Carondelet Village

10:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
Spend time making blankets with seniors living at Carondelet Village. Volunteers will meet in Rauenhorst Ballroom at 10:15 to walk over to Carondelet Village.

This project has a limited capacity, first come first serve.


St. Kate’s Food Shelf

10:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
Learn about our collaborative Food Shelf with the Sisters and help with deep cleaning and organizing. Meet at 10:15 in Rauenhorst Ballroom.

Incarceration
Project

10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Make welcome home gift bags. Meet in Rauenhorst Ballroom.


Breaking Free

10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Make self-care bags for the women at Breaking Free, an organization combating sex trafficking and helping women escape it. Meet in Rauenhorst Ballroom.


Write Notes to
the Sisters

10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Write a note and share your gratitude for our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Meet in Rauenhorst Ballroom.


Legislative
education
and advocacy

10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Learn about the Sisters of St. Joseph’s justice work and engage in legislative action that supports their work. Meet in Rauenhorst Ballroom.


Memorial card
packets

10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Assemble packets of cards to be sent to supporters of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Meet in Rauenhorst Ballroom.


Empty Bowls

1:30–2:30 p.m.
Led by Professor Monica Rudquist and her team of students. Make a clay bowl and learn about St. Kate’s Empty Bowls project that supports Open Arms of Minnesota, an organization that addresses food insecurity, especially focused on those who are experiencing illness. Meet at the ceramics studio in the Visual Arts Building.
