A Good Time For the Truth

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Mendel 101, St. Paul campus

Join the Psychology Department for their last colloquium of the semester!

Professors Jamie Peterson, Anaya Mitra, Art Sesma, and Anne Williams-Wengerd will discuss Professor Taiyon Coleman's essay "Disparate Impacts: Moving to Minnesota to Live Just Enough for the City," which is published in the book A Good Time for the Truth.

The discussion will focus on questions such as:

  • How can psychology — what we know about individuals' thoughts, emotions, and behaviors — help us understand prejudice, discrimination, and racial inequalities?
  • How can psychology help us discuss these difficult topics and find a way to move forward, together, to work towards racial equality?

One lucky winner will take home a copy of the book at the colloquium!
