The Office of Sponsored Programs, Research and External Engagement (SPREE) is responsible for stewarding relationships between St. Kate's and its corporate and foundation partners.
Examples of some current and past partnerships include:
Partnerships with each of these foundations has expanded the capacity of the University's National Center for STEM Elementary Education so that we may better meet the country’s needs for quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education at the elementary level. The center has three areas of emphasis: teaching (both pre-service and in-service); research; curriculum and materials; and consulting and outreach (including the Katie CoderDojo). Investment in the center will result in increased enthusiasm for and retention in STEM studies and careers, leading to an expanded and well-prepared STEM workforce.
Continued support from these foundations has worked to eliminate barriers to higher education for women of high ability who may be new immigrants, the first in their families to attend college, or low-income. College immersion camps for girls of color began over thirty years ago at St. Catherine. Now known as the First Step Institute , the program’s goal is to provide young women of color with the knowledge, tools, support and encouragement to make a successful transition from high school to college.
A partnership between Allina Healthcare System and St. Catherine University brings together more than 300 healthcare and education leaders from across the state for the annual Interprofessional Education Summit. Through keynote addresses, panel discussions and breakout sessions, participants build skills around team collaboration and team-based care, leading to better health outcomes.
The Wildcat Golf Tournament is held annually in August. This event is an exciting way to encourage physical fitness in our community while benefiting the Wildcat Athletics program. Sponsors, like Universal Athletics, enjoy tournament entry, as well as prominent recognition placement throughout the event and on marketing materials.
