Associate of Arts and Minnesota Transfer Curriculum

You may be able to satisfy most core requirements for a St. Kate's bachelor's by completing an AA at any college, or the MnTC through one of Minnesota's community colleges.


Associate of Arts (AA) Degree

Jump into a St. Kate's bachelor's program as a junior if you have completed an Associate of Arts degree. Your AA degree satisfies most of the St. Catherine University Liberal Arts Core/General Education requirements. To complete the core, which is necessary to earn a St. Catherine University bachelor’s degree, you also will need to take:

  • CORE 2000: The Reflective Woman
  • CORE 3990: Global Search for Justice
  • Theology

Qualifications

  • Your AA degree must be from a degree-granting institution regionally accredited by a regional accrediting body such as HLC
  • You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
  • You can transfer a maximum of 64 credits from two-year institutions
  • Your AA degree must be completed prior to enrollment at St. Catherine University. This will assure admission with junior standing.

* No additional credits will be accepted from two-year institutions upon enrollment at St. Catherine University. Note: this does not apply to St. Kate's AA students, who will satisfy the full requirements for their intended baccalaureate degree at St. Kate's.


Minnesota Transfer Curriculum

If you have completed the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) at one of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU), you have satisfied most of the St. Catherine University Liberal Arts Core /General Education requirements. To complete the core, which is necessary to earn a St. Catherine University bachelor’s degree, you also will need to take:

  • CORE 2000: The Reflective Woman
  • CORE 3990: Global Search for Justice
  • Theology
  • Health and Fitness
  • A second language, as required by the degree and program

Qualifications

  • You must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
  • You must complete the MnTC before enrolling at St. Catherine University
  • The MnTC may be completed at either a two- or four-year institution
  • Students will be granted a maximum of 64 transfer credits from two-year institutions
