Why St. Kate's?

“There is a great community here at St. Kate’s, and I’m happy to be a part of it. I’ve learned so much about myself and the world around me.”

Marcy is a recipient of St. Kate’s Billie-Rita Rhodes Spellman Endowed Memorial Scholarship. “Receiving this gift has been a blessing,” she says, “and it’s relieved a lot of financial stress for me and my family.”

Building Experience

Marcy has studied abroad in Guatemala, and says she will never forget the experience. The St. Kate’s course centered around women’s health and work — “and we met so many empowering, inspirational women who have endured much hardship in their lives,” she recalls. “I learned so much from this experience and hope to see more of the world in the future.”

Away from the classroom, Marcy has participated in several extracurricular activities including Volunteers in Action and New Student Orientation on campus. “I like being an orientation leader because it's a lot of fun meeting new students and helping them start off!”

Today

“After graduating in spring 2018, I will apply for Medical School to pursue my future career as a physician.”

Advice for students

“Make sure to enjoy your first year and try not to spend so much time stressing and worrying. Get out there, meet new people and participate in the many activities available on campus!”
