Cedar Falls, Iowa
When it came to deciding on a college, Lynn connected with St. Kate's Catholic identity. "I thought it would help me enhance my spiritual life — and I was not disappointed."
She decided on her area of study by connecting her interests. "I love food, and I would like to help others have a healthy diet."
"St. Kate’s classes have been very interesting. My...favorite was microbiology; I liked the way my professor taught it. It also closely related to my major and, I hope, my future profession."
Outside of classes, Lynn was very engaged with the community. She was involved in Cru, a Christian fellowship group on campus, and said she had, “an awesome experience with the other Christians.” She was also very involved in Campus Ministry, and was co-president of the Catholic Students Association at St. Kate’s.
Lynn enjoyed campus life. "I loved living on campus because it allowed me to meet many new people, and I became friends with some people who are very different from me. It was also convenient to get to class when you lived on campus."
In the future, "I dream of opening a restaurant with my sister, who has been my cooking partner in countless experiments at our home in Iowa. I also hope to learn more about foods from other cultures."
