Radiologic Technologist at Hennepin County Medical Center, Fairview Ridges Hospital, and University of Minnesota Medical Center–East Bank
“When looking into medical careers of interest, St. Kate’s had a large variety of programs available. After meeting with a counselor from St. Kate’s, I knew that Radiography was the program for me!”
Kayli was drawn to the variety of healthcare programs and cohort approach to learning at St. Kate’s. “I loved the small class sizes, and that we started and finished with the same classmates. My professors were also such wonderful teachers — they knew how to present the curriculum in a way that helped us all succeed. By the end of my last semester, I felt fully prepared to sit for the national registry exam.”
Meeting with a St. Kate’s admission counselor was a pivotal step for Kayli’s choice. They discussed the pros and cons of different careers in health and medicine. She says, “I left that meeting knowing that radiography was the program for me!”
Clinicals are a vital part of St. Kate’s radiography program, and Kayli participated in many rounds, gaining hands-on experience at hospitals, orthopedic centers and other health clinics.
“I use what I learned in the classroom daily, especially anatomy and x-ray procedures. The clinical experiences were vital to my outstanding education,” she explains. “St. Kate’s gave me the practice I needed to be able to jump right into my field. I had two jobs lined up before graduation day!”
“If you receive pamphlets for St. Kate’s information sessions — and are even a little bit interested — GO! Why not? The staff at St. Kate’s is great. They will help you meet your goals.”
