“I liked the fact that it’s focused on women and that students are empowered to speak up. I was also attracted to the small class sizes. St. Kate’s classes are more discussion-based and less lecture; I actually noticed this when I sat in on three classes when I did an Overnight Preview (organized by the Admission office).”
Breanne is co-president for St. Kate’s chapter of Colleges Against Cancer, which collaborates with the American Cancer Society to organize an annual Relay for Life on the St. Paul campus. She is also a supervisor in Telefund, the office that helps raise money for St. Kate’s annual fund. In addition to supervising a team of eight students, she is responsible for calling potential donors as well.
“I’ve had a few really good conversations with alumnae, and I love learning how different the campus was when they came to St. Kate’s. One of my favorite calls was with an alum who also majored in communications. She connected me with some prospective employers and I did a few informational interviews with them.”
Breanne hopes to work in a nonprofit organization after she graduates.
