Our graduate programs are open to women and men. Please review the program eligibility requirements and application instructions prior to starting the graduate application process.

Before beginning the application process, review the pre-application requirements for this program.

To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Baccalaureate degree
A completed bachelor's degree from an institution that is accredited by one of the regional accrediting associations (e.g. Higher Learning Commission).

Grade point average
A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B) or higher on a 4.0 scale. If the applicant's GPA is less than 3.0, an explanatory statement must be submitted that addresses any factors that influenced previous academic performance, and how the applicant plans to ensure future academic success. Additional information, such as Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores, also may be required.

Work experience
A minimum of two years of work and/or volunteer experience in a professional setting(s).

For Healthcare Concentration applicants, exposure to the healthcare industry is required, either through undergraduate coursework (for example, an undergraduate degree in a healthcare-related field) and/or healthcare- related work or volunteer experience.

Application fee

Submit a $35 non-refundable fee as part of the online application process. This fee is waived for students who:

  • Previously enrolled at the University (completed at least one course at either the undergraduate or graduate level)
  • Previously attended a graduate information session within the past five years
  • Previously completed an individual appointment with graduate faculty/staff within the past five years

If one or more of the above statements applies to you, choose the “waiver” option when asked for a form of payment.

Please note that your application fee will not be refunded if you submit the payment but are eligible for a fee waiver.

The MBA priority application deadlines are August 1 (Fall) and December 15 (Spring). Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed on a space-available basis.

We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 enrollment.

Prepare a personal statement that addresses the following topics in two separate essays. Degree-seeking applicants should include both Parts 1 & 2; certificate-seeking applicants should only include Part 2:

Part 1

Demonstrate your written communication skills, understanding of a relevant issue in business, and ability to critically assess the issue. Use formal citation (as needed) to support your perspective. (maximum 1,000 words)

Identify and assess one untapped opportunity in business or non-profit today. This could include new products, global market expansion, sustainability, innovation, corporate social responsibility, or another relevant topic in business.

Part 2

Describe your professional goals and how the MBA will help you achieve them. Be open and self-aware, demonstrating your understanding of what the MBA can do for you. (maximum 500 words)

Personal statements should be submitted as an attachment via email to with “MBA Personal Statement” in the subject line.

Please include your full name at the top of the statement.

Submit a current résumé highlighting professional and volunteer experiences. You should have the professional experience and commitment that would typically be demonstrated by two or more years of work or volunteer experience. Healthcare Concentration applicants should highlight their experiences within the healthcare industry.

Résumés should be submitted as an attachment via email to with “MBA Résumé” in the subject line.

MBA recommendation forms must be completed by individuals who can attest to the intellectual ability, professional competence and leadership ability of the applicant. Only professional or academic references will be considered; personal references are not acceptable. References must complete both the checklist and the accompanying statement sections of the form. Two recommendations are required for degree-seeking applicants; one recommendation is required for certificate-seeking applicants.

These are confidential recommendations and must be sent directly from the references to the Office of Graduate Admission. Original documents must be sent to our office. Applicants who wish to view a copy of the completed recommendations are responsible for making the appropriate arrangements with their references.

Official transcripts are required from each post-secondary institution attended, even if courses are recorded on another transcript and regardless of the number of credits earned.

Paper transcripts must be mailed in a sealed envelope directly from the registrar of each institution to the Office of Graduate Admission at St. Catherine University. Transcripts that do not meet these criteria will be considered unofficial and will not be used to complete the applicant’s file. Electronic transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to St. Catherine (; electronic transcripts forwarded by the applicant will not be accepted.

Applicants who do not meet the academic performance requirement (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) must submit an explanatory statement to address any factors that influenced previous academic performance, and how the applicant plans to ensure future academic success.

Applicants may also be required to submit official scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Either exam may be completed to satisfy the application requirements. The test date must be within five calendar years prior to the term of intended enrollment. To have official scores submitted to St. Catherine University, applicants should use the institution code of 6105 (GRE) or DPC (GMAT).

The GRE/GMAT and explanatory statement requirements are waived for applicants who have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) or who have completed a graduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Applicants whose native language is not English are required to complete the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test or 80 on the iBT, or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.5. This requirement is waived for applicants who have completed a baccalaureate or graduate degree in the United States.

Applicants with a college or university degree completed outside of the United States must submit an official course-by-course evaluation from World Education Services (WES), as well as original transcripts and official translations of all documents not in English. All costs related to document translation and evaluation are the applicant’s responsibility.

Selected qualified applicants will be contacted for a personal interview with the Admission Committee.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that her or his application is completed by the deadline. Fulfillment of the admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the program. No credentials will be returned to the applicant.


Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents must submit an International Student Supplement and Certification of Finances, in addition to the graduate program application. There is no additional application fee required.

Please review the information below regarding other application materials that may be required for international applicants.

Earlier deadlines may apply for international applicants to ensure that all immigration requirements can be met in time for you to enroll in the desired term. Contact your admission counselor with questions.

All international applicants for graduate study must complete the International Student Supplement in addition to applying directly to the graduate program.

The U.S. government requires international applicants to provide proof of ability to pay tuition and living expenses before the University can issue forms necessary to obtain a visa. International applicants must submit a Certification of Finances form, with the exception of the following programs:

  • Education: For Licensed Teachers (MAED in Curriculum & Instruction, Technology Integration, STEM)
  • Health Informatics (MHI)
  • Interpreting Studies (MAISCE)
  • Montessori: AM2 (MAED)
  • Occupational Therapy: Post-professional (OTD)

Some international applicants may be required to submit additional documentation, such as a credential evaluation, language test scores, etc. Please review the application instructions for your graduate program for more information.

Please submit the International Student Supplement and Certification of Finances forms to the Office of Graduate Admission; review your graduate program application instructions for submitting educational documentation and test scores. The Admission Committee will not review your application until we have received all required documents.
