Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love seeing how excited everyone is for the upcoming year! I love the Patio Party!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Don’t be afraid to change your mind.

What campus activities are you involved in? I am a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and work for campus ministry. I am a member of the St. Kate's swim team as well.

Do you work anywhere on or off campus? Yes, I work for the exercise science department and Campus Ministry.

What is your favorite St.Kate’s tradition? My favorite St. Kate's tradition is the Dew Drop Bop at the end of the year. It is so fun to relax before finals begin and enjoy the company of others. There are many activities like the raffles and bingo that are perfect for anyone.

What would your superpower be? I would want to the ability to time travel.

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? My favorite place to hang out on campus is in the athlete lounge. It is quiet and relaxing.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because it provides the perfect opportunity to meet other students and develop a sense of community. All the activities allowed me to bond with my TRW class and make lasting friendships. My favorite memory from orientation was the closing ceremony and processing in from the chapel to the ballroom, with all the students cheering us on.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? I would tell incoming freshmen to get involved with as much as possible. Making connections with many different students will enhance your experience at St. Kate's.

Name a character (cartoon or real) that you can relate to and why. I relate to Dory from Finding Nemo because she is positive and has lots of energy. She loves to swim just like me and tries to make those around her smile.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because I love the idea of being able to welcome all the new faces to St. Kate’s! My favorite memory from orientation was when my group all went to Panera to eat and I made some really strong connections that day!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Get involved!!! Also, when you order pizza from the Pulse, get the olive oil instead of the red pizza sauce for the best pizza.

What is your favorite St.Kate’s tradition? Dew Drop Bop is really fun! It's a nice way to relax before finals start, and the food and games are awesome!

What would your superpower be? If I could choose any superpower, it would be to be able to fly!

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? I like to sit on a blanket by Dew Drop pond where you can see all the ducks!

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I think that orientation is really exciting because first year students get to meet their peers and it's the first time that they get to fully experience the St. Kate's community! My favorite memory from orientation would be walking to Highland Park to have dinner with my group! It was a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Go to the activities fair! It's a great way to learn about all of the clubs on campus and to meet other students interested in the same things as you. With that in mind, remember that you don't have to be in every club right away. You can always join more later!

Name a character (cartoon or real) that you can relate to and why. Olaf! He dreams of summer, which is my favorite season! I also like how he's so carefree and fun!

What campus activities are you involved in? I am a part of the sorority on campus, Lambda Sigma Tau. I am the secretary of Colleges Against Cancer. I am vice president of Hiphop Club.

Do you work anywhere on or off campus? Yes on campus as a Building Coordinator at the Information Desk. Also, I did work in the Pulse my first year.

What is your favorite St.Kate’s tradition? My favorite St. Kate’s tradition is Dew Drop Bop! It is so fun to celebrate all the hard work of the year on the last day of classes spring semester! There is crafts, henna, rides, and good food!

What would your superpower be? No, I have not figured out my superpower yet but I wish I had teleportation! I am not a huge fan of car rides and airplane rides! I think they are a waste of time and wish I could just teleport to the place I am trying to get to!

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? My favorite place to hangout on campus is down by Dew Drop! It is super nice to get some fresh air and watch all the ducks! It is also a very peaceful place to go when you are stressed out!

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because it helps the transition to college life! In orientation there is a ton of fun activities that helps with making friends! My favorite memory is getting so close to my orientation leader that I was able to call her to pick me up from Nelson's Ice Cream the first week of school because I was too scared to walk back to campus in the dark!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Go out of your comfort zone! College is a time to try new things and figure out who you are! I never would have thought I would join a sorority but it is the greatest thing I have done! When I am with other people it takes something big to get me into a bad mood!

Name a character (cartoon or real) that you can relate to and why. I relate to Princess Poppy from the movie Trolls! I think I relate to her because I absolutely love the color pink and I am mostly always happy and in a good mood!

What is your favorite St.Kate’s tradition? Dew Drop Bop. It's a great way to celebrate the end of the semester and have fun with the St. Kate's community. The free food is also a great thing!

What would your superpower be? My super power is remembering birthdays. I had the same class all through elementary and middle school and I could still tell you all of their birthdays.

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? When it's nice outside, I love hanging out and doing homework on the outdoor patio. Otherwise, I mostly hang out on the 2nd floor of the CdC.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because it allows you to meet so many people. As a senior, I live with girls I met during my first few days at St. Kate's. Orientation is the time where you make those lifetime friendships. But, there are also many lifetime friendships I've made that weren't during orientation so don't panic if you don't automatically click with anyone during orientation! Orientation also gives you the opportunity to learn more about St. Kate's and hopefully get many of your questions answered. My favorite memory about my orientation was the closing ceremony because it was a special kickoff to my first year of college! As you come into your first year of college you have a lot of emotions. There are dreams you hope come true and uncertainties about friendships and classes. You are starting a brand new chapter of your life.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? These next four years are going to be both challenging and rewarding. You will learn so much about yourself. The best way to start that, is to enter this year with an open mind and curiosity!

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? I love meeting people who otherwise I wouldn't have met. I also love that we get to come together and enjoy the festivities.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? My favorite memory from orientation is the walk through the chapel with the candles! There was just this feeling of belonging!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Take the time to really cultivate your skills and get to know yourself. There are so many clubs and activities that you can join to get to know what you like and don't like. This is also a great way to meet new people who also like what you like! Be sure not to do too much your first year because it can be overwhelming.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I really enjoyed getting to know new people and having an OL who was experienced who could answer my questions. I met my best friend in my orientation group, and I am still good friends with my OL!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? If you are worried about making friends, join clubs. I met some of my best friends in the clubs I joined. Also look for an on campus job, I love working at the Info Center, and I've made amazing friends there.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love how orientation makes every student entering St. Kate's feel special and welcomed. The warm welcome makes students feel part of the community.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Don't be afraid to be yourself. St. Kate's is a place where you can genuinely be yourself and continue to grow and blossom into who you want to be.

Name a character (cartoon or real) that you can relate to and why. Silvermist because she has a go-with-the-flow personality. She is a Water Fairy who can charm even the most stubborn dew drop. Sweet and sympathetic, she knows just how to lend a helping hand.

What campus activities are you involved in? I am a Co-Chair for the Southeast Asian Student Association. I am also a member of the Asian Women's Association.

What is your favorite St.Kate’s tradition? I enjoy attending all of the events that are held on campus! Going to the Dew Drop Bop is fun and also gives you a moment to celebrate the end of the year.

What would your superpower be? I have always wanted to help others to the best of my abilities. If I could, I would want a super power of healing myself and others. This can be from healing minor wounds to curing cancer.

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? One of the most beautiful place on campus is the English Garden that is behind Whitby. The flowers are beautiful and it is a cute place to take pictures!

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? Orientation gave me the chance to create a bond with other students and helped ease me into my TRW class. One of my favorite memories from orientation were the days we did Activities outside in the quad. It was fun having ice breakers!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? I recommend every students to make good use of the O'Neill Center. It will help boost your grade on essays that you may need help on. Also, do not forget to try out different clubs!

What would your superpower be? I’m great at reading facial expressions, but have yet to master reading minds.

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? My favorite place to hang out at St. Kates is the Student Org. It’s the best place to study, hang out with friends, or take a nap!

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because the energy is amazing. My favorite memory would be playing kumcha!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? My advice to the incoming freshmen would be to RELAX, transitioning into college life is nothing like American films depict it to be!

What is your favorite St.Kate’s tradition? I love the opening ceremony that takes place at the beginning of the school year.

What would your superpower be? Well, I wish my super power was eidetic memory. That would make exams a lot easier :)

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? I love hanging out in The Pulse or out on the quad. There are some pretty good secret places to study all around the CdC. Studying down by Dew Drop Pond during the fall and spring is also really nice!

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because it is a welcoming experience that allows you to meet new people, make friends, and learn all about St. Kate's. My favorite memory from my orientation is becoming closer and closer to my peers in my orientation group as the days went by. It made TRW (The Reflective Woman) an even more fascinating experience.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Come into college with an open mind! Things will surprise you, things will not go as planned, and you will learn so much about yourself and the world during your time at college. If you come in with an open mind, you will see more and your experience at St. Kate's will be even better!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? You can get that A if you put in the effort! Make set some time to relax and enjoy the moment. Spend your time wisely and stay organized!

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? A lot of people don't attend orientation because they think it's a waste of time to meet people you won't talk to once school starts. At St. Kate's, that's different because your orientation group is your TRW class, meaning you get to be comfortable with the class you're spending a semester with. My favorite memory from orientation was meeting my classmates and being able to mingle during all the activities.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Come prepared with questions. I didn't get the chance to set up my Kateway properly before orientation, and even after I did I barely knew how to use it.

What is your favorite St. Kate’s tradition? My favorite St. Kate's tradition is mass in the chapel on Sunday mornings! It is really cool to see different parts of the St. Kate's community come together in our beautiful chapel.

What would your superpower be? My super power would be super speed. I love staying busy, but often find I do not have enough time in my day! Super speed would let me run around the Twin Cities and explore EVERYTHING!

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? I love hanging out on the different patios on campus during the fall and spring months! The patio behind Rau/Mor would be the best kept secret when it comes to patios!!

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because it is a fresh start for everyone. Yes, incoming first years are going through the biggest transition, but it is also a new academic year for OL's, faculty, and staff working orientation. I love the anticipation of a new school year beginning. My favorite memory from my first year orientation was the friendships that formed, and how everyone was in the same boat- we all wanted genuine friends! This memory became even richer when I saw genuine friendships being built and maintained in the orientation group I led last fall!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Do whatever makes you truly happy. At the end of the day, our happiness is very important. If we are not truly happy, our experiences as a Katie and beyond will not be memorable whatsoever.
Name a character (cartoon or real) that you can relate to and why? I can relate to Summer Hathaway from School of Rock in the fact that I am a rule follower and like things done the right way, but once in a while you can find me letting loose and having fun with the rest of the band!

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Everything will be OK!

What campus activities are you involved in? I am involved in the South East Asian Student Association where I was a treasurer in the 2017-2018 academic year, and for 2018-2019 I am the Co-President for South East Asian Student Association and the Public Relations Officer for Public Health Club.

Do you work anywhere on or off campus? I am planning to work with the Event Setup Crew beginning in fall 2018.

What is your favorite St.Kate’s tradition? Thanksgiving lunch! I think that was the first time I saw so many people eating at the cafe and enjoying the food.

What would your superpower be? I think my super power would be flying. So I could just fly to any location that I want.

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? The library or the third floor in CdC are two of my favorite places to study and hang out with friends. I enjoy being in quiet places so I could focus better or take a quick nap before class.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I really love meeting new people and getting to know my way around campus. My favorite memory was winning a blanket during bingo.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Not to be afraid to ask questions and take different classes that might not be in your major. There are many opportunities to find out what you want to major in or classes to take. However, always check your courses with your advisor or a professor in that department to make sure. Your college experience should be enjoyable but also taking in all the knowledge that you obtained from your classes. From experience, I learned that it is possible to try something and find out that it's not for you. It is something that I do not regret and paved the way for my current major. Self-care and sleep are also important for college students to be successful.

Name a character (cartoon or real) that you can relate to and why. Stitch. Some personality traits that I share is being mischievous but at the same time endearing. Often misunderstood because of our actions perceived differently by others but we genuinely care about others. Most of the time we are learning different ways to communicate with others.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? I would say to get involved. If you're involved it's easier to meet people and find out about different programs.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love that I get to welcome the students to campus. It's a good way to maintain the community vibe of St. Kate's.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? You don't have to know everything at once. I would focus on what pertains to you specifically, whether that it's accommodation or res life questions and note those down. Orientation is a marathon so pace yourself well.

What would your superpower be? My superpower is making connections with those around me!

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because students from all over the country are coming together to start a very rewarding journey. My favorite memory from orientation was the closing candlelight ceremony.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Bring a water bottle and a smile with you wherever you go. Don't be afraid to ask for help, that's what we're here for!

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? The best memory that I have from my orientation is meeting one of my best friends on the quad (fun fact: we have the same birthday!)

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? Go to the activities fair and get involved on campus. These four years will be what you make them so make them the best you can.

What would your superpower be? My super power would be to read people's minds and being able to have the ability to know how people are feeling. I picked this because if I know how someone is feeling I can do something to make them feel better if their upset, and join them if they are happy.

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? My friends and I really enjoyed hanging out in the Student Organization room in the CDC the entire school year. The Student Org allowed us to meet a lot of new faces, which is why we enjoyed it so much.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because it allowed me to meet new people and make a lot of new friends. My favorite memory of orientation was the games we played.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? I would just tell them not to stress or worry, and that college is not what everyone makes it seem like it is. The teachers are way nicer than I thought and they were all very helpful.

I want students to understand that asking for help can be beneficial and will help you in the long run. The time you spend at St.Kate's will go fast so enjoy your time and have some fun.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? I would say go to orientation! It’s the best way to get your foot in the door because everyone for the most part is new and doesn’t know anyone on campus.

What is your favorite St.Kate’s tradition? My favorite St. Kate's tradition is definitely Dew Drop Bop. After the stress of finals hits, it is the perfect way to relieve some stress and just have fun with your friends, all your fellow students, and the St. Kate's faculty.

What would your superpower be? I don't know if any superpower can top my ability to eat a hoagie from the Pulse in three minutes flat, but if anything could outshine that it would probably be flying.

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? My favorite place to hang out on campus is by Dew Drop on a nice day because it's just so beautiful! Not many people are aware of this, but the best drinking fountains on campus are in the basement of Mendel and the one right past the weight room in the Butler center.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love getting to meet people that I might not have been introduced to otherwise. My favorite memory from orientation was playing a silly game with my orientation group and just belly laughing with everyone at how funny we all looked. It really bonded us as a group and allowed us to forget about the worries of being in a very new situation and just live in the moment.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? My best advice I could give to incoming students is to come with a willing spirit and know that change is good, whether that is a change in environment or within oneself. Change is inevitable, so the more you can be willing to go through it, the easier the transition will be to this new chapter of your life.

Name a character (cartoon or real) that you can relate to and why. I definitely relate to Max from Stranger Things Season 2. She plays video games and likes going on adventures, even though that is not what people think she should be doing. She marches to the beat of her own drum, and that is something I aspire to do more often.

What is your favorite St.Kate’s tradition? I really enjoy Dew Drop Bop, and it is definitely one of the best St. Kate's traditions. The food and activities are really awesome, and it is a nice way to have fun before finals.

What would your superpower be? Some people might consider the fact that I really enjoy organizing things a superpower. I have always liked making lists, alphabetizing, and planning activities. But if I could have any super power I think being able to fly would be really cool.

Favorite place to hang out on campus? Or the best kept secret about St. Kate's? My favorite place to hang out at St. Kate's is definitely down by Dew Drop pond, especially when the weather is nice. In the spring and fall, near Dew Drop is a nice place to do homework as well as see the ducks. Even in the winter I sometimes make a point to walk past the pond because it is so pretty.

Why do you love orientation? What is your favorite memory from your orientation? I love orientation because it is the first time that students get to experience the fantastic community that St. Kate's has to offer. Orientation is also an enjoyable way for students to get to know the campus and its resources before classes start. During my orientation, I really liked being able to meet new people, and the programs and activities that were offered were also really great.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? When you first start at St. Kate's it may feel overwhelming, but it is important to remember that all the other first-year students are in the same boat. With this in mind, college is a chance to make new friends and to have new experiences so it is important for incoming students to have an open mind and to not hold back both in and outside the classroom. If there is something that students want to do or accomplish then St. Kate's is a great environment to do so.

What advice would you give to incoming students? Is there anything you wish you would have known about? It's okay to be afraid and doubtful. Everyone goes through it when they first start college. St. Kate's is a place full of people you can be comfortable around and talk to. There are many people you can go to for advice and there are many resources available to you, which is something I wish I knew my first year.
