How does the past affect the present? St. Kate's history major spans ancient history to the traditions of the 21st century. You'll learn about people, places, and events around the globe, while acquiring strong critical thinking, writing, and research skills for a broad range of professions and graduate school.
We take seriously the idea that history is not just made by men in positions of power and is not just memorizing dates. We teach history from the bottom up — emphasizing how women, for example, contributed to and influenced politics, economics, and culture.
As the world is becoming more connected, those with the ability to work confidently in this complex environment are well positioned for the future. International Studies is an ideal major for students who want to understand the connections between their local world and the larger global context.
