Michelle is the associate dean and acting dean of St. Kate's School of Business. In this role, she guides all undergraduate and graduate programs within the school, providing strategic leadership over this portfolio of programs to ensure academic excellence, market relevance, and an innovative mindset to guide our sustained success and growth.

As a leader within the School of Business and the University, Michelle is instrumental in guiding strategy creation and execution, marketing, corporate relations, and new program development for the school, Graduate College, and University. As a faculty member, she teaches Marketing Management, the Integrated Case Experience, and the Strategic Capstone within the MBA and MS in Management programs.

Before joining St. Catherine University, Michelle was the director of the Graduate Business Career Center with the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, and served in a variety of career development roles with the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to beginning her academic career, she spent several years in marketing, consulting, and recruiting positions. She was a vice president for brand management executive recruiting at the O’Connell Group executive search, a management consultant with Ernst & Young (EY), and held sales and marketing positions with General Mills and Nestlé Purina.

Michelle has a PhD in organizational leadership, policy, and development at the University of Minnesota, an MBA in marketing from Washington University, and a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Missouri. Her ongoing research focuses on the experience and outcomes of MBA graduates across the globe, with a particular focus on career success and satisfaction by gender. Michelle is passionate about educating future business leaders, and is committed to using her research to resolve issues and gaps in the workplace and highlight the life-changing outcomes of an MBA.

Throughout her career, Michelle has been a leader within many professional organizations. She has served on the board of the MBA Career Services and Employer Alliance, the Forté Foundation, and Minnesota Women in Marketing and Communications. She is an active member of the National Association of Women MBAs, Women’s Health TRUST, National Speakers Association, and the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association. Michelle is vice president of the Eagle Heights Spanish Immersion PTO and a member of the Minneapolis Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi, where she has served as philanthropy chair and membership chair.
