Nursing 3291: Nursing Interventions Lab
In this course, students will use the central concepts in NURS 3281 Pathophysiology to determine and apply evidence based nursing interventions to patients across the continuum of care and through the lifespan. Learning activities will occur in the classroom, lab and simulation. Offered in the College for Women.

Nursing 3800: Application of Theory Nursing Practice I – Community Clinical at Catholic Charities Dorothy Day
In this course students will focus on the operationalization of theoretical concepts in the provision of nursing care across healthcare settings. Students will apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired in NURS 3281 and NURS 3291 to individuals and families in the acute care and the mental health or community health practice settings. Learning activities will occur in the clinical setting, seminar and simulation. Offered in the College for Women.

Nursing 3810: Application of Theory Nursing Practice II- Acute Care Clinical at United (2600) Post-op Surgical Unit
The course builds on the nursing practice you developed in NURS 3800 Application of Theory in Nursing Practice I. You will continue to refine your reflective and mindful practice in the acute care setting and the mental health or community health practice arenas. New concepts and knowledge introduced in NURS 3282 and NURS 3292 will be integrated across settings. Enrichment in the patterns of knowing will be the focus of learning. Learning activities will occur in the clinical setting, seminar and simulation.

Nursing 4020: Complex Patient Care Across the Continuum
You will apply knowledge, skills, attitudes developed in previous and concurrent nursing courses to provide care for complex clients in a variety of settings using an evidence-based approach. You will be focusing on the continuum of care and the needs of and challenges faced by individuals, families, and population groups. Your applied learning experience will include discussion of the ethical, economic, and policy issues which impact care both locally and globally. Introduction to the care of populations will broaden your view of assessment and planning for health care, both locally and globally.

Nursing 6140: Advanced Health Assessment Across the Lifespan
This course introduces advanced physical assessment of patients across the lifespan with particular focus on the use of the problem oriented health record format, health history, and physical examination techniques. Content focuses on screening, assessment skills and on population specific assessment techniques.

Nursing 2910: Health Assessment: Nursing Care of the individuals and families
Assisted faculty in teaching basic health assessment skills to undergraduate sophomore level nursing students in the classroom and lab setting. Created and carried out complete lesson plans on Care of Families, Culture, & Spiritualty. Created and set-up final lab head to toe test outs for students.
