I was a high school English teacher for eight years before returning to school to pursue further studies. I completed my Ph.D. in American Literature at State University of New York at Buffalo after completing my dissertation on the works of Harriet Beecher Stowe. I have taught both writing and literature courses at St. Catherine University for the last twenty-one years and also publish Colleagues, the faculty staff newsletter, that features the writing of faculty/staff and students. I have served on various committees during my time at St. Kate's, mentored and advised students in different capacities and pioneered and implemented innovative course designs for my department.
