What can I do with an MSM degree?

The MSM is designed to give those with any bachelor’s degree—including liberal arts majors—a toolkit of business skills that will help them put their undergrad degree to work in their future career.

New college graduates face intense competition for entry-level management positions. Today's hiring managers seek out candidates with graduate degrees. But, to gain admission to most MBA programs, you'll need years of work experience.

St. Kate's innovative MSM degree program provides you with both: you'll get the experience you need to rise above the competition—and you'll enter the job market with a management degree from a leading university. You will graduate ready for entry-level consulting and management positions.

This program is a great fit for aspiring entrepreneurs, too, as you’ll develop the personal leadership, marketing and financial management skills needed to successfully launch or grow your business.

How will I study?

The 36-credit MSM is a one-year intensive graduate program. The hybrid (on-campus and online) format accommodates students with jobs. Most classes meet one evening per week, supplemented by online learning that you can complete on your own time. Career and experiential courses meet Friday mornings or afternoons.

Career-Focused and Experiential Learning

Practical, hands-on learning experiences are woven throughout the MSM program. You'll get intensive career coaching and help gaining internships, develop a robust network and connect with industry professionals.

We recognize that students who are preparing to launch their full-time careers need expert career preparation and guidance to land that first job and succeed in it. In Career Compass courses, you’ll explore your passions and activate your job search strategy with the help of career coaches who will be with you every step of the way.

Experiential (learning by doing) courses include an Integrated Case Experience course, in which you will work in a small team to recommend solutions to a business problem presented by a real organization; Applied Industry Research, in which you’ll dig deep into an industry that interests you, and a program capstone, in which you will complete a consulting project for an outside organization.
