Faculty Profiles

Our faculty are active researchers, writers and speakers; many of them internationally known for their contributions toward the advancement of their fields of study. But, most of all, they're passionate, caring teachers.

  • Allison Adrian, PhD

    Associate Professor, Music; Director of Competitive Fellowships.

    Dr. Allison Adrian specializes in ethnomusicology and musicology. She studied economics, music, and Spanish during her undergraduate years. Before pursuing a graduate degree, she worked as a technology consultant, an AmeriCorps volunteer, and a group leader for high school students studying abroad.

    She obtained her master’s degree at UCLA in ethnomusicology, focusing on Basque American vocal music. She moved to the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities to pursue her doctoral research with Mirjana Lausevic (1966–2007). Her dissertation examined music in 20 different Lutheran congregations in the Twin Cities made up of recent immigrants and refugees from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

  • Natalie K. Eschenbaum, PhD

    Division Chair, Arts and Humanities; Professor, English

    Natalie K. Eschenbaum earned her B.A. in English (minor in Philosophy) from Tulane University (1997) and her Ph.D. in English from Emory University (2006). Her research focuses on sensation studies and affect theory (specifically the affect of disgust) in early modern English literature. She publishes on Shakespeare and seventeenth-century poets, including Robert Herrick. She was Professor of English, Chair of English, and Chair of Faculty Senate at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, through 2020. She began at St. Catherine University as Professor of English and Division Chair of Arts and Humanities (Art/Art History, English/International Language & Literature, History/International Studies, Philosophy, Theology, and Music) in 2020.

  • Patricia Connors, DMA

    Professor, Music

    Director of Choirs, Department Chair

    Patricia Connors, Director of Choral Activities and Chair of the Department of Music at St. Kate's, conducts the Women's Choir, Femme Vocale, and the St. Catherine Choral Society, as well as providing music direction for the annual musical. She has studied with conducting masters Don V Moses, Julius Herford and Helmuth Rilling. Dr. Connors has served as guest conductor/clinician for choral festivals including the Indiana All State Women's Choir, the Minnesota Community College Honor Choir, Star of the North Chamber Choir Festival, the Drake Choir Festival and the Marquette Chorus Festival.
