Pre-Occupational Therapy

Are you interested in helping people develop, to their fullest potential, the skills of living needed to learn, work, play, socialize, sleep and care for oneself and others? When pursuing the pre-occupational therapy degree on our St. Paul campus, you will be given the opportunity to apply your liberal arts education toward a graduate degree in OT.

What can I do with a degree in occupational therapy?

St. Kate’s major in pre-occupational therapy prepares you for further graduate study in the field. This degree program allows you to earn credit toward your Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy while completing your bachelor’s degree.

Upon completion of both degrees, students will proficient in:

  • Occupational therapy evaluation, intervention planning and outcomes

what will I study?

You will take coursework toward one of four dual-degree majors:

  • communication studies
  • exercise and sport science
  • psychology
  • public health: public policy

Your pre-occupational therapy area of study will include all MAOT prerequisites, liberal arts core requirements and major course work in the field of study you chose.
