Focus on Curriculum and Instruction, Technology Integration, or STEM
You will choose one of three concentrations: curriculum and instruction, technology integration, or STEM. A variety of graduate certificate options are also available.
After a kick-off event on our St. Paul, MN campus* (held on a weekend before classes start), students complete most of their courses in an online format. Some STEM courses are offered in a hybrid format and include campus meetings combined with online learning.
*Students starting in Summer 2020 are not required to be on campus to begin the program.
Our graduate curriculum reflects today's digital realities, and faculty provide in-depth formative feedback throughout the program. Our courses integrate case studies on your students and encourage you to reflect on your lessons and classroom management. You'll create interdisciplinary lessons and maximize the potential of the technology you have available in your classrooms to meaningfully engage your students. In your final action research project, you’ll delve deep into a topic of your choosing that will push you to become a more effective, ethical teacher and leader.
Achieving a master’s degree in education can be the stepping stone to a promotion, greater compensation, and a more satisfying career. St. Kate’s MAED helps you stand out among your peers in the field of education, within your district, and the broader educational community.
Our coursework is designed to tackle the challenges and opportunities you experience in your classroom every day. Our graduates work efficiently in multidisciplinary teams, advocate effectively for their students, and implement reflective teaching practices that ensure ongoing improvements. You will be able to identify and build on your students’ strengths, address varied learning styles, use digital technology effectively, and design learning experiences that meet the needs of the students in your classroom.
